Herman Gilbert “Corky” Williams

Herman Gilbert “Corky” Williams, age 84, formerly of Russellville, passed away on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at Helen Keller Hospital.

Corky worked for years in management at F.W. Woolworth and TG&Y. He loved his teams, Alabama Football, and St. Louis Cardinals. He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He always enjoyed traveling with his wife to spend the winter months in Florida. He was loved by everyone who knew him, and he will be missed by all.

His visitation will be 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. Sunday, October 18, 2020 at Spry Memorial Chapel. The funeral will follow at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel with Bro. Sammy Taylor officiating. Burial will be at Franklin Memory Gardens.

Corky was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Louise Williams; parents, Clarence & Edna (Gray) Williams; and brother, Johnny Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his children, Diane Pounders (Rodney), Ricky Williams (Jeanie), Edward Williams (Dianne), Linda Evans (Robert), Joan Latimer (Bobby), Mike Williams (Eddy); 14 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren; brother, Glenn Williams; and several nieces & nephews.

The family would like to extend a sincere heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Keller Landing for the love and care shown to our dad over the last few years.
