TUSCUMBIA-On Wednesday, October 14 the Colbert County Animal Shelter has been forced to close after two employees, including Director Judie Nichols, tested positive for COVID-19.

“The Shelter will be closed to the public until further notice due to Positive COVID cases. The animals in our care are being cared for and we are able to provide very limited animal control at this time. We are sorry for any inconvenience and would like to ask for your patience and well wishes at this time. If you have an extreme emergency and can’t get through to us, please call your local police department.”

The shelter should reopen in two weeks.
