John Howard Baxter

Mr. John Howard Baxter of Somerville, Alabama; the Union Hill Community of Morgan County; passed away in the early hours of Sunday – October 11, 2020 at the age of 75 years.
Mr. Baxter was born on February 6, 1945 in Rome, Georgia to Robert Lamar Baxter and Frances Montora Sammons Baxter. Mr. Baxter was a drug and alcohol counselor with Baxter Assistant Services. He is formerly of Pearland, Texas and enjoyed motorcycle and riding with the Patriot Guard, in addition he also admired the art of woodworking, was passionate about his country, loved being around people but most of all, he enjoyed spreading positive encouragement to all.
Mr. Baxter was a member of the Arab First United Methodist Church and is at last walking with his Lord and Savior.
Mr. Baxter will be forever remembered by his beloved wife of 51 years, Carolyn Marie Dunagan Baxter; daughters, Kathy Morgan (Stephen) and Cindy Brady (Kevin); sisters, Barbara Ann Holloway (Harley) and Kathy Lay (Charlie); 10 grandchildren, one great grandchild as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents; Robert Lamar Baxter and Frances Montora Sammons Baxter; Mr. Baxter is at last reunited with his brother, Franklin Lamar Baxter.
A Memorial Visitation will take place at the Arab First United Methodist Church from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
Memorial Services will take place at the Arab First United Methodist Church beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. F. Todd Henderson, Bro. Nicky James and Bro. Brian Jimenez, officiating.
Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, Directing.
