Sue Stubley Rowan Sue Stubley Rowan, age 94, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on October 12, 2020. Sue graduated from Knoxville High school in 1944 and attended the University of Tennessee where she was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority and honored to be the 1945 Band sponsor of the UT Pride of the Southland Band. In 1948, she married Billy Joe Rowan, a stand out football player for the University of Tennessee. They moved to Huntsville where they remained for the rest of their lives. Sue was the secretary at Jones Valley Elementary School for 22 years and was one the charter members of the Huntsville Delta Delta Delta Alumni group. She was a faithful member of the Tuesday Morning Bible study and a long-time member of the Rounder’s, a travel group comprised of many friends. She was a member of Central Presbyterian church. Her family was always very important to her, and she loved each one dearly.

She was predeceased by her parents, Glenn and Glenna Houghton Stubley; her husband of 52 years, Billy Joe Rowan; one brother and six sisters, Robinson Houghton Stubley, Harriet Baylor Stubley, Martha S. Pace, Vivian S. Domm, Glenna S. Lindsay, Kathryn S. Dance, and Carolyn S. Briggs Keller.

Surviving Sue are her children, Susan Rowan Gillespie and Robert Michael Rowan (Leila Anne); her 6 grandchildren, Kim Brown (Dan), Robert Rowan (Kate), Eleanor Anne Fann (Tyler), Billy Rowan (Melanie), Alison Trefry (Brian), and Sarah Seelhorst (Darryl); and her 10 great-grandchildren, Daniel Brown, Rob Rowan III, Margaret Rowan, Leila Kay Seelhorst, Hollis Fann, Mallie Fann, Weston Trefry, Rowan Seelhorst, Brooklyn Seelhorst, and Will Rowan.

A private family service will be held in the future. Memorials may be made to the Central Presbyterian Church at 406 Randolph Avenue Huntsville, AL 35801 or to Lincoln Village Ministry at 1110 Meridian Street Huntsville, AL 35801.
