Grady Joseph “G.J.” Wharton of Prospect, TN. went home to be with his Lord and Master Friday, October 9, 2020. G. J. was born December 20, 1940 in Madison County Alabama and was 79 years old.
G.J. was a good Christian man who loved the Lord, his family and his fellow man. He was a well-loved member of his community, greeting everyone with a smile and kind word. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and the Patriots. He spent many hours fishing in the TN. river with his brothers.
Visitation will be on Sunday, October 11th from 1:00pm until 3:00pm at Bennett-May & Pierce Funeral Home and Crematory.
A graveside service will take place on Monday, October 12th at 11:00am at Gatlin Cemetery with Bro. Mark Johnson officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lewis and Rosie Griffin Wharton, brothers, Aubrey and Garland Wharton and a sister, Christine Wharton Lawrence.
He is survived by his,
Sister, Helen Simmons of Somerville, AL.
Brother, Lonzo Lee Wharton Sr. of Prospect, TN.
Sister-in-law, Connie Wharton of Monrovia, AL.
Along with a host of beloved nieces and nephews.
