Willie Cody Willie Tee Clemmons Cody, 103, of Killen, passed away October 9, at her home, surrounded by family. She was a native of Lauderdale County and of the Church of Christ faith. She was born February 24, 1917. She came from a big family and was one of eleven and had ten kids herself. She attended Greenhill School until the 8th grade when she stopped to help her family on the farm. Willie Tee was a homemaker. She was married to Willie Patton “Bill” Cody for 54 years. They had 10 children. Willie Tee was a hard worker in the field and farm. She was determined to teach her kids to be hard workers. She was strong willed person; she picked cotton and had a baby that night. In Willie Tees’s lifetime, she saw many changes from the Great Depression, riding in horse and wagon, to the invention of cars. Willie Tee loved to go to Gospel singings. She loved the Lord. Her favorite thing to tell people was “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”. She believed in always working hard, even when she was bed ridden, she wanted to get up because there were things that needed to be done. Willie Tee loved to recite Psalm 23 “The Lord is my Shepherd”. She had a love of flowers, especially a good smelling rose. Preceded in death by: Father: Emmitt Phillip Clemmons Mothers: Emma Mae Hamner Clemmons Husband: Willie Patton “Bill” Cody Son: Charles David Cody Grandson: Tommy Wayne Tucker Brothers: AD, Percy, Porter, Earlie & Unnamed baby Clemmons Sisters: Katherine Truitt, Earline Stutts & Virgie Bradley Sons-in-law: Henry Lee Jaynes “Pud” Survivors include: Sons: Earnest Cody, Patton Jr., “Bob” Cody, Kenneth Cody(Ramona) & Jimmy Cody Daughters: Jewel Dean Jaynes, Judy Swinea(Ronald), Frances Tucker(Larry), Shirie Wisdom & Patricia Landers Brother: James H. Clemmons Sister: Joyce Slaton Willie Tee had 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 11 great-great grandchildren There will be a private graveside service for Mrs. Cody at North Carolina Church of Christ Cemetery with Bro. Miles Stutts officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery. Grandsons will be pallbearers. The family would like to thank all of those who sent prayers. Also, thank you: Stephanie, Kayla & Dr. Chris, and all of those from Encompass Hospice. The love that you showed will never be forgotten. Greenhill Funeral Home is in charge of all arrangements.
