Leo Edwin Smith, age 86 of Empire, passed away Tuesday October 6, 2020. He was a U.S. Navy veteran; He was a graduate of Dora High School; he attended Walker College where he was a member of the Baseball team. He loved to fish.
Funeral services will be Friday October 9, 2020 at 12:00 pm in the New Horizon Memorial Chapel. Rev. Don Westbrook and Rev. Joel Carden will officiate. Burial will follow at Pisgah Cemetery in Sipsey. Visitation is Thursday night 6-8 pm at the funeral home.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Weir Smith and brothers, George “Buddy” Smith, J.T. Smith and Taylor Smith.
Survivors include his children, Kristi Smith and Kevin Smith; grandson, Brantley Smith; sister, Edith Harding; sister-in-law, Betty Smith; several other family members and many friends.
