Bernard Wayne “Bernie” Sirten 82, of Athens, AL died Monday, October 5, 2020 at Elk River Health and Rehab of Ardmore in Ardmore, Tennessee.

He was born Sunday, September 4, 1938 in Elkmont, AL, he was the son of Clay Sirten and Clura Vinson Sirten Atwell . He was an on the road trucker for the majority of his life and was the owner of Bernie Sirten Transportation, and later B&S Services.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Helen Marie Porter Sirten.

He is survived by his son, Phillip (Pam) Sirten, Ardmore, AL; grandson, Matt (Stephanie) Sirten, Elkmont, AL; three great-grandchildren, Brinley, Brady and Brooklyn Sirten all of Elkmont, AL; and sister, Barbara (Clarence) Floyd of Flint, Michigan. He has six bonus grandchildren and 21 bonus great-grandchildren.

A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at Roselawn Cemetery, Athens, AL, at 3:00 PM with Bro. Rex Kilpatrick officiating. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Matt Sirten, Heath George, Jason King, Lanny Williams, Chris Putman, Nathan Craig, T.J. Ingram, and great-grandson, Brady Sirten.
