Mr. Charles F. RobertsMr. Charles Roberts was born on October 24, 1934, in Henderson County to the late Dewey and Myrtle Brasher Roberts. He grew up on Roberts Family Farm and was a life-long resident of Sardis. He retired from Johnson Controls with over 34 years of service and was a member of the Saltillo United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Ray, Neal, and Gerald Roberts, one sister, Faye Roberts Jones, and a sister-in-law, Lois Vernell Powers Roberts.
Mr. Charles was a student of history, and especially Sardis History. You could ask him any question about Sardis or the people of Sardis and he could recite their ancestry. After retirement, he enjoyed going to flea markets, spending time with his brother and sister-in-law, Gerald and Vernell (who he cared for until their passing) and visiting the local café to share stories with other retirees. He found pleasure in going to church at Saltillo and the Sunday afternoon lunch and rides to various places. He also enjoyed visiting the Bolen’s, Ms. Helen and Joe. He appreciated when Sergio, Ed, Melissa, and Ms. Gail would stop by to visit or help him.
Mr. Charles was a man of order an time. Before their passing he would visit Gerald and Vernell at exactly 7 AM and would leave at exactly 3 PM, 7 days a week. He would also call Donna every day at 8 AM and 5 PM, she will miss those calls. If you were his friend you knew he cared for you. He was a very loyal person and he expected loyalty in return. He was loved and will be missed.
Funeral services are scheduled for 1 PM, Saturday, October 3, 2020 at Saltillo United Methodist Church with a private interment to follow.
