LIMESTONE COUNTY-On Wednesday, September 30 the Limestone County sheriff’s Office issued a press release concerning the arrest of two suspects on several felony charges:
“September 29 A Madison woman who showed up at the Limestone County Jail to bond her boyfriend out in a vehicle that investigators recognized as the suspect vehicle from multiple burglaries was arrested Tuesday. Investigators recovered stolen and switched plates, drugs. a gun, a counterfeit SI 00 bill, and evidence of other thefts. Her boyfriend received additional charges.
Mariah Cook, 27, is charged with possession of a controlled substance due to meth in her possession. She is held in the Limestone County Jail on S2500 bond.
Jesse Johnson, 33, is charged with possession of a forged instrument degree, theft degree (2 counts), and burglary 3rd degree.
Additional charges are expected. He is held in the Limestone County Jail. Bond amount is not available; however, bond on Johnson’s previous charges (multiple breaking and entering of vehicles and receiving stolen property) is $20,000.
After recognizing the van when it pulled into the sheriffs office parking lot, investigators contacted Cook, who advised she was there to bond Johnson out of jail. The van had a switched plate on it and three others inside (one of which had been reported stolen).
Investigators also found meth, a counterfeit $100 bill, drug paraphernalia and a rifle in plain view. Investigators also recovered evidence of many stolen items. Additional charges are expected as those items are recovered.”
