Gene Grimes, 90 of Jackson passed away on September 12, 2020 at Jackson Madison County General Hospital. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020 at 1:00 pm at Ridgecrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the graveside from 12:30 pm until the time of the service at 1:00 pm.
Mr. Grimes was born on November 26, 1929 in Waynesboro, TN. to the late Claude and Gladys Crews Grimes. He was retired from the Navy after serving in both the Korean Conflict, and the Vietnam war. After his service, Mr. Grimes worked in automobile sales.
Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Dorothy, brothers; Bud Grimes and wife Barbara, Jim Grimes and wife Rosalia & Glen Grimes sisters; Margaret Gallaher and husband Marion, Louise Oswalt and husband Jack and Annette Rogers.
Mr. Grimes is survived by a daughter; Linda Sullivan, stepson; Charles Edward McCormick, sister; Frances Kelly, brother; Bruce Grimes, two sister in laws; Joyce Grimes and Pat Grimes and 4 Grandchildren; Jason McCormick, David McCormick, Jeff McCormick and Tanya Marie Graham. He also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.
