Ellis Orten Farley, 82 of Arley, entered into rest on Monday, September 14, 2020 at Walker Baptist Medical Center in Jasper.

Ellis was born on August 15, 1938 in Winston County, Alabama.  He was a hardworking, giving man who loved his family and serving the Lord.  He was a longtime, faithful member of Arley Congregational Christian Church, where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.  Ellis loved to garden, both flowers and vegetables.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 6pm-8pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where the service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2020 at 11am.  Reverend Robert Partridge and Brother Doug Raburn will officiate.  Burial will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery in Arley.

Ellis is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma Farley; son, Steve Farley and his wife, Robin; daughters, Rebecca “Becky” Sargent and her husband James, Beverly Davis and her husband, Tim and Debra Denson and her husband Timmy; brother, David Farley; sister, Margie Hix; grandchildren, Stacia Aderholt, Brittney Baldwin, Ian Sargent, Matt Gober, Garrett Gober, Kelsey Estell, Kyle Denson, Cody Farley, Jessica Taylor, Levi Tyree and Bethany Farley;  11 great grandchildren; special cousins, Roger and Tilmon Farley and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sanford and Estelle Farley; sisters, Pauline Day, Pearline Sargent and JoAnn Smith and brothers, Clarence Farley, Carl Farley and Franklin Farley.
