Mr. Davis L. Ponder of the Grassy Community in Arab, Alabama; went to walk with his savior in the evening of Saturday – September 12, 2020 at the age of 70 years.
Mr. Ponder was born the son of Silas A. Ponder and Mildred S. Cox Ponder on October 25, 1949 in Marshall County, Alabama. Mr. Ponder is a retired machine operator, formerly employed with Crysler. After his retirement he began to take the time to enjoy some of his most enjoyable hobbies such as; playing music and singing, yard work and watching Auburn football. He was a member of the Sweet Home Baptist Church and was loved by all.
Mr. Ponder will be forever remembered by his beloved wife of 5 years; Kathy Lou Mason Ponder; stepsons, Jason Golden and Kevin Golden; daughter, Amanda Schuknecht (Chris); stepdaughter, Tammy Williams (Mike); brother, Glen Ponder (Barbara); sister, Betty Reisenweber (Ken); stepsister, Sandy McKelvey; grandchildren, Morgan Ponder and Cody Mayo; as well as a host of step grandchildren, step great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, Silas A. Ponder and Mildred S. Cox Ponder; Mr. Ponder is at last reunited with his stepdaughter, Heather Golden.
A Visitation will take place at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Tuesday – September 15, 2020 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Funeral services will take place at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel on Tuesday – September 15, 2020 beginning at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. Tim Lynch and Bro. Andy Brown, officiating.
Interment will follow services immediately at the Edgewood Cemetery in the Grassy Community.
Pallbearers escorting Mr. Ponder to his final resting place will include: Allen Ponder, Ricky Martin, Cody Bridges, Scott Reisenweber, Kevin Golden and Jason Golden.
