Thomas Eugene (Gene) Seitz, Waynesboro, TN Thomas Eugene (Gene) Seitz, Waynesboro, TN was born October 30, 1940 in Lynchburg, OH, son of the late Oral B. Seitz and Goldie Brown Wright. Mr. Seitz, a retired City of Waynesboro Police Chief, had worked as a bail bondsman for Harry Floyd and Sons Bonding. A member of Green River Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee, he served 3 tours in Vietnam from 1961 to 1969 with the US Army. Mr. Seitz, a member of American Legion Post 130, Waynesboro, TN and TN Association of Chiefs of Police, departed this life, Sunday, September 13, 2020 at his home at the age of 79 Years, 10 Months, 14 Days. Survivors, wife, Francelle Stewart Seitz, Waynesboro, TN; sons, Greg Seitz, Jacksonville, AL, Shayne Seitz, Waynesboro, TN; stepson, Allen Hampton (Celia), Columbia, TN; stepdaughters, Becky Pyle (Chad), Jennifer Groves (Kodie) all of Waynesboro, TN; grandchild, Nikki McDonald; step-grandchildren, Micah Pyle (Cassie), Chay and Tucker Pyle, Tracy and Lexy Groves, Lynn Scott (Jarrett), Andrew, Bethany and Matthew Hampton; great-grandchild, Aaron McDonald; sisters, Ann Orme (Lenny), Cincinnati, OH, Peggy Arnold (Mike), Lakeland, FL. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by sister, Lynda Vaccariello; stepsons, Chris and John Hampton. Services will be Sunday, September 20, 2020 at 3:00 PM at Green River Baptist Church, Waynesboro, Tennessee, with Kerry Franks and Jay Clanton officiating. Burial with military rites will follow in Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro, Tennessee, Shackelford Funeral Directors, Wayne County directing. Visitation will be September 19, 2020 from 6-9 pm at the church. Pallbearers will be Chris Ray, Gene Stegall, Ric Wilson, Greg Floyd, Gene Vetetoe, Jerrod Baugus, Ralph Horton and Byron Davis with honorary pallbearers being American Legion Post 130 members and the City of Waynesboro Police Force. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be given to American Legion Post 130, Waynesboro, TN or Green River Baptist Church Children’s Fund.
