ATHENS – Athens Main Street is excited to announce the Grand Reopening of The Broken Brush on the historic downtown Athens Square on September 17th, 2020.

A successful private painting party business on Square since 2012, owner Jessica Pratt-Miller is launching a new concept for The Broken Brush.  She will be continuing those fun, private signup painting parties that everyone loves. But, the three newly renovated classrooms will provide creative spaces for even more variety of art media classes and parties.  The studio offers canvas acrylic paint, wood cutouts, watercolors and more.  With the addition of a new kiln, ceramics classes will be offered.

The Broken Brush will now be open daily Tuesday through Saturday.  Walk-in’s are welcome! Or, call for private party reservations.  Public class times are posted on their Facebook page and on their website https:brokenbrushstudio107.square.site/.

Do you home school or school your children virtually?  The Broken Brush offers home school art classes. Give them an art experience they will love!  As Pratt-Miller says, “This is fun art not fine art, it’s all about the experience and you don’t have to have any skills to paint with us!”

Jessica is a third-generation artist and has been painting all her life.  When asked why the name “The Broken Brush”, Pratt-Miller said, “Everyone is broken in some way, we have all had challenges in our lives that have made us want to just quit or lay down but in those moments of my life I took up painting. It was a way for me to release my brokenness. So for me, I wanted to open a studio for anyone who just wanted a place they could have fun, laugh, enjoy themselves no matter the day they have had. I wanted to offer a fun environment! I feel like we have come a long way and we have helped create many happy times & smiles.”

Athens Main Street Executive Director, Tere Richardson encourages everyone to “Put The Broken Brush, located at 107 S. Marion Street, on your list of interesting and creative things to do with your friends, family or just as a treat for yourself.”

New Hours of Operation:  Tuesday – Thursday 10:00am – 4:00pm, Friday-Saturday 10:00am – 6:00pm.
