Serena Frances Sheffield Serena Frances Sheffield, 74, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2020, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. She was born August 2, 1946, in Lee County, Mississippi, to the late Roy Smith and the late Lizzie Leona Robbins Smith. Serena lived a life surrounded by the people whom she loved and cared for the most. She enjoyed cooking good ole fried chicken and baking her famous pecan pies. She was always known for having a sweet tooth for candy, snack cakes, and Pepsi. She loved most things that revolved around her thirteen grandchildren, whom she loved with her whole heart. Serena was a member of Open Door Worship Center under the leadership of Pasor Shane Ray in Fulton, MS.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Monday, September 14, at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Pastor Shane Ray officiating.  Burial will be in the Ozark Cemetery.

Serena is survived by her three sons, Ricky Stanford (Jennifer) of Fulton, Roy Bridges (Nicole) of Biloxi, and Brian Bridges of New Albany; 13 grandchildren, Kendall Queen of Tennessee, Cinda Swearengin (Josh) of Kansas City, KS, Whitney Stanford of Fulton, Andrew Stanford (Breeze) of Vina, AL, Brianna White (Skyler), Brooke Stanford, and Carolyn Stanford, all of Fulton, Daniel Bridges of Mantachie, Kristin Stanford of Fulton, and Kiana Bridges, Vincit and Zane Bridges, and Viola Bridges, all of Biloxi; one sister, Martha Moore of Fulton; several nieces and nephews; three great-grandchildren; and her special friend and caregiver, Sandra Stanphill of Tremont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Sheffield; her daughter, Ann Morris; Ricky and Ann’s father, Gerald Stanford; Roy and Brian’s father, Paul Bridges; her parents, Roy and Lizzie Smith; three sisters, Jean McMillen, Geneva Smith, and Nell Pinkston; and one brother, Paul Smith.

Pallbearers will be Kendall Queen, Andrew Stanford, Skyler White, Christopher Smith, Doug Smith, Lee Carter, and Stevie Lancaster.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until service time Monday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
