Margaret Lucille Turner  Margaret Lucille Turner, 77, of Huntsville, passed away Friday after a brief illness. Lucille was the Financial Secretary for First United Methodist Church in Huntsville for 48 years. She began her job right out of high school and loved it so much she stayed 48 years until she retired in 2009.

Lucille was a charter member of Calvary Bible Church in Huntsville. Before becoming homebound, she could always be found faithfully on the front 3rd or 4th pew every Sunday morning.

She loved to travel and go on road shopping trips looking for bargains. Lucille and her friend, Allen, would leave with an empty car and return with a packed car, loving every minute. She never forgot a family member’s birthday or anniversary and faithfully sent a card on each occasion with a well written note of love inside. She was the best! Lucille loved her family, and if you needed her, she was always there to help or encourage. Lucille was a loyal Crimson Tide fan!

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Esther Turner, brother, John W. Turner, Jr., and nephew, Robert “Robbie” Turner, who loved her dearly.

Survivors include her sister, Shirley Duffie, of Huntsville; brother, Robert Turner (Kandy) of Franklin, TN; lifelong friend and companion, Allen Dale of Huntsville; and several nephews, nieces and cousins.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
