SHEFFIELD-Keep the Shoals Beautiful is hosting the annual Tennessee River Litter Tournament on Saturday September 26 from 8:00 am until Noon. On site touchless registration starts at 7:30 am but pre-registering is encouraged. See the options at the bottom of the flyer.
This event is made possible every year by a grant from TVA. We will have sign in and collection points at McFarland Park in Florence and Riverfront Park in Sheffield at the shelter in front of Cypress Moon Studio. Supplies will be sanitized and prepackaged. Box lunches will available to go at the end of the tournament.
Every bag of trash collected and large junk item brought in gets one chance for a random drawing for the $500 grand prize. The person bringing in the greatest number of bags and junk at each location will receive a $100 MVP Award. The person at each location bringing in the most aluminum cans will receive a $100 Constellium Recycler Award.
Trash, litter and junk items can be retrieved from the water, shoreline or anywhere it may be washed into the River by storm water runoff. Angela Lovelady from Constellium and Steve Stanley of Keep The Shoals Beautiful will be at Riverfront Park to manage sign in and record collections.
Come spend a fall Saturday morning helping keep the Tennessee River clean and win some cash and other prizes!
