Betty Halcomb Wade

Mrs. Betty Halcomb Wade of the Howell Community passed away, at age 84, on September 12, 2020 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 15, 2020 from 10 A.M. until 12 P.M. at Higgins Funeral Home, with Funeral Service at 12 P.M. Burial will follow beside her husband Guy Forrest Wade in Riverview Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Wade was born on July 7, 1936 in Lincoln County to the late Troy Luther and Nola Lue Halcomb. She was a businesswoman with over 40 years of experience in the banking profession, retiring from Union Planters Bank as an Executive Vice President. She was a member of the Fayetteville First Baptist Church and cherished caring for her family and studying God’s Word above all else. Many knew her as “Nana”, which began as a name the grandchildren fondly called her, but ultimately symbolizes the truly selfless wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend that she was.

Survivors include her daughters, Vicki Wade and her husband Greg Pamplin, Lana Vanhooser and her husband Keith, and Genie Wade all of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Lawryn Bevels, Bethany, Will and Guy Vanhooser, several nieces, and loving caregivers Pattie Kosik, Sherry Norris, and Heather Reynolds. In addition to her parents Mrs. Wade was preceded in death by her husband Guy Forrest Wade and brother David Larry Halcomb.

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the to the Fayetteville First Baptist Church PO Box 623 Fayetteville, TN 37334, American Cancer Society, or to a charity of choice. Higgins Funeral Home is honored to be serving the family of Mrs. Betty Halcomb Wade.
