Lorey A. Zaman Lorey A. Zaman, 53, of Albertville and formerly of New Hartford, New York, passed away on Tuesday, September 1, 2020, from a traffic accident. She was born in Utica, New York, on November 25, 1966. Growing up and throughout adulthood, Lorey cherished every moment she spent with her late father, Horace J. Mancuso. She was a woman of all trades, including but not limited to nursing, cytology, teaching, counseling, ceramics, business, coaching, cooking, music and law. On top of that, many people can attest to her love for and dedication to all children through her volunteer work in PTA and the New Hartford School Board. She was devoted to her own children, but she was a mother to all. No matter what curveballs life threw at her, she always believed in comebacks – once she put her mind to something, there was no stopping her. Her smile and bright spirit lit up every room she walked into. Now her light will shine through every person she touched, including her fiancé, Mike Gentry. Lorey always believed in destiny, and it was fate that she kept locking eyes at a NYS PTA convention with the man who turned out to be her soulmate. She said it best when she referenced the fifth decade as the happiest and most rewarding.

She is survived by her children: Khaleela Zaman of MA, Siraj Zaman of CA, Safia Zaman and Kai Zaman, both of Albertville, AL; her fiancé Mike Gentry and family dog Trudy of Albertville; her future daughter and son-in-law Lauren and Casey Walker of Birmingham; her brother and sister-in-law Peter and Christine Mancuso, and her nephew and his wife Peter Jr. and Sunnie Mancuso of FL; her sister and brother-in-law Anne Maria and Alan Rizzo of FL; her future in-laws Jim and Sylvia Gentry of Albertville; many cousins and others that she would consider family.

The family will have a private graveside service, and a reception to celebrate her life will be held Sunday afternoon at the Gentry residence, 1817 Whitesville Road, Albertville, AL 35950, from 4:00PM until 6:00PM.

Albertville Funeral Home Downtown is assisting the family with arrangements.
