Helen Keller Hospital Selected To Bring Survivorship Series For Young Women Affected By Breast Cancer

SHEFFIELD– Keller Breast Program has partnered with Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a national breast cancer nonprofit organization that provides trusted information and a community of support, to host a series of webinars for young women diagnosed with breast cancer before the age of 45.

 

Helen Keller Hospital is one of fifteen centers in the southeast region of the United States selected to host this series, and also the first center in the state of Alabama to implement the program.

 

Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s Survivorship Series for Young Women Affected by Breast Cancer is a four-part Game Day Benefit for Living Beyond Breast Cancer Tickets, Wed, Sep 30, 2020 at 10:30 AM | Eventbriteeducation series that provides tailored education to women diagnosed before age 45, but much of the content is suitable for all ages. The Survivorship Series will provide answers and resources on some of the most common concerns for young women such as sex and intimacy, early menopause, the longterm effects of treatment and self-care after breast cancer.

Living Beyond Breast Cancer’s national needs assessment of young women diagnosed with breast cancer showed that young women wanted more information and support on specific survivorship issues.  Living Beyond Breast Cancer developed the Survivorship Series to address the identified needs reported from women across the nation.
