James Edward “J.E.” Hudson

James Edward “J.E.” Hudson, 101, of Iuka, MS passed away on Monday, September 7, 2020 at his residence. He was a member at Campground United Methodist Church where he was known for his song leading abilities. From early on J.E. homesteaded his land to the point he was almost self sufficient and could sustain himself through his ability to garden, deer hunt, and crappie fish. He had a love for Blue Grass Music and enjoyed traveling far and wide to attend Blue Grass Festivals. He was a World War II United States Army Veteran. J.E. also enjoyed and cherished his time with his family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Connie Walker (Robert O’Neal); three sons, Barney Hudson (Shelia), Jerry Hudson (Linda), and Neil Hudson (Cindy); his grandchildren,  Jonathan Walker, Dexter Walker (Missy), George Walker, Jr., Jay Walker, Sara Hudson, Brock Hudson, Stacey Hamner (Ken), Brian Hudson (Kylie), Kate Bauw (Bryan), Kevin Hudson (Tosha), Jacob Hudson, and Alex Ragland (Patrick); 17 great grandchildren; his special friend and caregiver, Goldie Phifer; and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and his church family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lutie Mae Hudson; his parents, Milton Edgar “Mit” and Florence Irene Dexter Hudson; his infant son; his granddaughter, Sommar Morrow; his daughter in law, Jane Hudson and an infant granddaughter; and his siblings, Otha Cutshall, Bart Hudson, Dow Hudson, Bert Hudson, Jim Hudson, Irene Harris, and Estelle Lomenick. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with the arrangements. Visitation is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2020 from 2pm until 3pm at Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery. Services are scheduled for Thursday, September 10, 2020 at 3pm at Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jerry Bonds. Burial will be in Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery with full military honors and Masonic Rites. Pallbearers will be J.E.’s grandsons. Donations may be made in J.E.’s honor to Campground United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund. Donations may be dropped off or mailed to Campground Cemetery Fund C/O Cutshall Funeral Home, 302 North Pearl Street, Iuka, MS 38852.
