James Edward Walling

Mr. James Edward Walling, age 92, passed away Friday September 4, 2020 at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Nashville, TN.  A Van Buren County native and a resident of the Piney Community, James was born on August 14, 1928 to the late Oscar and Ola Hitchcox Walling. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and was a member of the Shockley Church of Christ.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers; William and Dan Walling, sisters; Thelma Sullivan and Alma Baker.

James is survived by his daughter; Sharon Delayne Walling (James) Mooneyham, Mother of Sharon; Mildred Grissom Walling, grandchildren; Wendy (Paul) Forsythe and Robin Mooneyham, great-grandchildren; Lowen Mooneyham, Ledger Pickett and Maddox Forsythe, Caretaker; Eva Dye, Special Friend; Jesse Shirk, an extended family also survives.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday September 8, 2020 at 2:00pm in the Layne Chapel with Bro. William Shockley and Bro. Ronnie Clendenon officiating.  Burial will follow in the Seitz Cemetery with Military Honors.  Visitation hours are Monday 4:00pm to 8:00pm and Tuesday 10:00am till time of service at 2:00pm at Layne Funeral Home.
