Donald B Havercroft, 91, of Decatur, passed away on Thursday, September 3, 2020. Memorial Service will be on Wednesday, September 9, 2020, at 12:00 pm at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Aaron Kretzschmar officiating. Burial will be in Saginaw, Michigan. Don was an Eagle Scout and was drafted into the army after high school. He served in the field artillery observation battalion during the Korean War. Don was an avid fisherman and sports fan. He enjoyed watching college athletics and pro baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers. He also was a very talented woodworker, with many of his creations displayed in homes of friends and relatives. Don played golf for over 70 years, boasting 3 holes in one. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend. Don is survived by his son, Richard Havercroft (Sue); daughter, Laura Clem (Robert); grandsons, Richard Lane Thompson and Andrew Havercroft; great-granddaughters, Abigail Havercroft, Rylieh Havercroft, and Aria Thompson. He is preceded in death by his sons, Ronald and David Havercroft, and wife, Norma Havercroft. Roselawn Funeral Home has the honor of assisting the family.
