Madison Woman Leads Law Enforcement On High Speed Chase

JACKSON COUNTY-On Tuesday, September 1 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency issued a press release concerning the arrest of a Madison woman who led police and state law enforcement on a high speed chase:

“A traffic pursuit at 11:45 am. Tuesday, Sept. 1, has resulted in the arrest of a Madison woman.

Analyn Wilks, 49, was arrested after she led ALEA State Troopers on a vehicle pursuit. Troopers attempted to stop Wilks for a traffic violation on U.S. 72 in Jackson County. Wilks refused to stop and attempted to ram a Trooper’s vehicle. Officers with the Gurley Police Department assisted during the pursuit as it entered the Gurley Town Limits.

Wilks intentionally rammed two Gurley Police vehicles, causing damage. Wilks’s vehicle became disabled after she again crashed into a Gurley Police vehicle on U.S. 72 near Shields Road. Wilks was taken into custody and was charged with Attempting to Flee and Elude Law Enforcement, Reckless Endangerment, and several traffic violations.

Wilks was taken the Jackson County Jail and will possibly face additional charges. No injuries occurred during the pursuit and nothing further is available as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.”
