ELKMONT-On August 16 a letter was sent to the parents and school staff of Elkmont High School to announce the school will be closed all this week due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It was confirmed last Thursday that four Elkmont High School students had tested positive for COVID-19.
The School will teach classes this week through the virtual Google classroom. Students who did not have devices to use at home were given the devices on Sunday.
Seniors and juniors received their deceives on Sunday and plans are in the works to get the additional grades their devices as soon as possible.
According to the Limestone County Schools the decision to close the schools will be reevaluated at the end of the week. The closing will enable the school to deep clean and sanitize the school.
