James R. “Jim” Hester

James R. “Jim” Hester, 73, died Friday, July 31, 2020 at his residence.  He was born in Tishomingo, MS to Ruel and Ruth Massey Hester.  He was a heavy equipment mechanic and business owner.  He attended Liberty Church of Christ.

His family and friends will best remember him as a hard worker who loved his job.  He spent his retirement years reading his bible, working crosswords and entertaining loved ones and friends with many humorous stories of the past.

Graveside services will be Monday, August 3, 11 a.m. at Tishomingo City Cemetery with David Conley officiating.  Burial will be in Tishomingo City Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years-Joyce Kathleen Hester; two sons-Dale Hester (Angie) and Robert Hester (Tonya) and one daughter-Jennifer Fulmer; three grandsons-Dakota Hester, AJ Fulmer and Jonathan Smith; one sister-Mary Ann Halsell and his first cousin-Gene Hester.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-Carroll Hester and Donald Hester.

Pallbearers will be Dakota Hester, AJ Fulmer, Travis Luttrell, Richie Rast, Brian Rogers and Rayburn Hargett.  Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Hester, Donnie Cain, Steve Ballard and Butch Carr.

Visitation will be Sunday, August 2, 6-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
