Drug Bust In Leighton Nets Drugs, Guns And Money

LEIGHTON-One Arrest was made Wednesday in a Drug bust.  Darold Morris was arrested after a traffic stop with 14 grams of Heroin and is being held in the Colbert County Jail on A $40,00 bond charged with trafficking heroine and possession of cocaine.

The female arrested has not been identified and according to the sheriff will be charged with trafficking morphine and distribution of controlled substances with intent to sell meth and heroin.

Here is what Sheriff Williamson released regarding the arrest of Morris and the ongoing investigation along with Leighton Police and the Colbert County Drug Task Force the investigation took place in the 2200 bloc of Leigh Heights Circle:

“After many complaints and long hours of investigation Colbert County Drug Task Force, Leighton Police Dept. and Colbert County Sheriff’s Office served a search warrant on the residence of 2295 Leigh Heights Circle and found over 1000 miscellaneous controlled substances  pills, heroin, ICE, 4 guns and cash in the residence.

This has been an ongoing investigation for over a year. There was one arrested with multiple charges pending on two other subjects.”

The female subject will be charged with Trafficking Morphine, Distribution of Controlled Subs. Possession w/intent to Distributed. Ice and Heroin. The male will be charged with 4 counts of Possession. of Controlled subs.
