MUSCLE SHOALS & PHIL CAMPBELL-Northwest-Shoals Community College (NW-SCC) will host the first fall semester drive-through Patriot Day on the Phil Campbell and Shoals Campus next Saturday, August 8, 2020, beginning at 9 a.m. and ending at 12 p.m.

Drive-through Patriot Day will offer new, current, and potential NW-SCC students an opportunity to tour the campus in their vehicle, meet faculty and staff outside their departmental buildings, ask questions, and have an opportunity to register for the fall semester. Students who attend will receive a welcome bag and an opportunity to win a $500 scholarship.

According to NW-SCC Assistant Dean of Student Services, Dr. Crystal Reed, the College is

Dr. Crystal Reed

offering drive-through Patriot Day for students since they have not had the opportunity to visit campus due to the pandemic. “This is a wonderful opportunity to welcome our students back to campus after almost five months,” said Reed. “We want to get them excited, answer any questions they may have, and show them how much they mean to us.”

Even if students have not completed the registration process for the fall semester, the College encourages them to take advantage of virtual registration at https://www.nwscc.edu/2020-summerfall-registration or attend the drive-through Patriot Day.

“We know some of our students may have internet issues or other circumstances that prevent them from registering online,” stated Reed. “We want to help them through this difficult time in any way we can.”

To register for the event and ensure your chance to win the $250 scholarship, students can visit https://calendly.com/crystalreed/patriotday?month=2020-08. Visitors will need to enter through the entrance by gym and security gate on the Shoals Campus and the main entrance on the Phil Campbell campus. There they will receive guidance on how to proceed through each campus.

NW-SCC fall semester classes begin Monday, August 17. For more information, please contact Dr. Crystal Reed, Assistant Dean of Student Success at cingle@nwscc.edu or visit nwscc.edu.
