Two Separate Traffic Accidents In Etowah County Result In Two Deaths

ETOWAH COUNTY-On Monday, July 27 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reported two separate  traffic accidents in Etowah County that have resulted in the deaths of two people:

The first accident occurred near Boaz and resulted in the death of one person:

“A two-vehicle crash at 12:58 p.m. Monday, July 27, has claimed the life of an Attalla woman. 

Jessica Lynn Sewell, 34, who was not wearing her seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene.  Sewell was a passenger in a 2002 Dodge Ram driven by Timothy Dillard Jr., 32, of Attalla.  Dillard, who was not wearing his seatbelt was injured and transported to Gadsden Regional Hospital.

The Dodge Ram collided with a 2006 Peterbilt dump truck. The driver of the dump truck and a passenger were uninjured. The crash occurred on Alabama Highway 179 seven miles south of Boaz. Nothing further is available as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.”

The second accident occurred near Collinsville in Etowah County and resulted in the death of one person:

“A single-vehicle crash at 2:20 p.m. Monday, July 27, has claimed the life of a Collinsville man.

Terry Glenn Pigg , 62, was killed when the John Deere 6220 tractor he was driving left the roadway on County Road 212 and overturned. Pigg was pronounced dead at the scene.

The crash occurred approximately five miles North of Collinsville in Etowah County. Nothing further is available as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.”
