Erskine E. “Sonny” Embrey

 Erskine E. “Sonny” Embrey, 83, passed away Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Iuka Hospital.  He was born in Tishomingo County to Erskine and Evelyn Gipson Embrey.  He was a truck driver and member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army.

Graveside services with military honors will be Sunday, July 26, 4:30 p.m. at Joel Cemetery with Bro. Robert Wood and Bro. Barry Holcomb officiating.  Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife-Sue Embrey of Dennis; two children-Joel Harris (Sonya) and Martha Mansell (Terry); five grandchildren-Dustin  Harris (Meagan), Trista Eaton (Dustin), Seth Rockwell (Andrea), Shara Allison (Jason) and Asia Mansell; ten great-grandchildren-Jazlyn Eaton, Savannah Eaton, Caren Eaton, Rita Eaton, Chris Eaton, Kenna Eaton, Mika Eaton, Peyton Mansell, Callie Larson and Jax Allison; two great-great grandchildren-Olivia Harris and Jalianna Avant; his brothers and sisters-Thelma Wynn (Ed), Pat Embrey, Linda Embrey, Carol Tomlan (Bill), Jimmy Embrey (Shirley) and Joyce Embrey; sister and brother-in-law-Paulette and Frankie Embrey and his very special cats-Abby and Baby.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson-Patrick Mansell and his brother-Leroy Embrey (Maria).

Pallbearers will be Dustin Harris, Seth Rockwell, Terry Mansell, Dustin Eaton, Tyrel Rutherford and Edward Dennington.  Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Embrey and Jason Allison.
