Mr. James Earl BrownMr. James Earl Brown, 73, of Arab, Alabama passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 21 2020 at his home after an illness.
Mr. Brown was born December 12, 1946 in Marshall County to Erskin and Marie Slaten Brown. He attended Grassy School and graduated from Arab High School. He was married for 54 years to the former Diane Hunt.
He was a retired small business owner and formerly owned Midas Burger and Ray’s BBQ, a lifetime resident of Arab, and a member of Old Brashiers Chapel Church. Mr. Brown enjoyed spending time with his dog, relaxing at the lake, watching sports (especially Alabama football) and taking trips to the beach and mountains with his family.
He is survived by his wife Diane Brown; three daughters and a son in law, Kym Brown, Kelly Scarbrough, Amy and Matt Gerards; two granddaughters, Lexi Scarbrough and Allison Scarbrough; a brother, Larry (Juney) Brown, and many other family and friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Bobby Joe Brown.
Graveside service will be at 11:00 am July 23, 2020 at Brashiers Chapel Cemetery with Pastor Josh Garmany officiating, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel directing.
Pallbearers will be Keith Bales, Brad Cleland, Brian Cleland, Kara Cleland, Wayne Cox and Terry Julian.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Old Brashiers Chapel Church.
