Mr. Lewis Prentis Cornett of the Union Hill Community in Morgan County passed away on Saturday, July 11, 2020 at Marshall Medical Center North at the age of 69 years.
Mr. Cornett was born to the late Lewis Grady Cornett and Vivian Vernell Roberts Cornett on May 22, 1951 in Marshall County, Alabama. Upon graduating high school, Mr. Cornett spent his earlier years in construction and later worked as a defense contractor with Wolfcreek Federal Service. He enjoyed horses and horseback riding, camping trips with close friends, and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.
Mr. Cornett will be forever remembered by his beloved wife of 50 years; Barbara Jane Leach Cornett; son, Dustin Prentis Cornett; daughter, Holly Kuszniaj (Chris); sisters, Brenda Hendrix (Lafett), Nancy Walker, Gayla Warren (Charles), Patricia Julian (Stan) and Sheree Black (Glen); grandchildren, Levi Cornett, Parker Cornett, Landon Kuszniaj and Noah Kuszniaj.
Visitation will be held at the Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Morgan City, Alabama from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m on Tuesday, July 14, 2020.
Graveside services will take place at the West Point Baptist Church Cemetery on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. with Bro. Shane Wheeler, officiating.
Pallbearers will include; Mike Ferguson, Mark Ferguson, Todd Isom, Patrick Warren, Will Black, Michael Walker, Jeffery Warren, Phillip Hendrix & Travis Hendrix, Honorary Pallbearer, Matt Price.
Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel and Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.
In lieu of flowers, the Cornett Family request that donations be made to the American Heart Association and St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
