Helen Keller Hospital New Caregiver Guidelines

SHEFFIELD-Beginning on Monday, July 13 our Caregiver Guidelines will be changing. One caregiver will be allowed per patient and must remain with patient for the duration of the stay. Please view the guidelines below.

Caregiver Guidelines
Effective June 15, 2020

Our first priority at Helen Keller Hospital is always the health and safety of our patients, your
families and our staff. We understand that the current environment has created unexpected
challenges for you and for us. Thank you for your patience and cooperation as we seek to deliver
safe, quality care to you and your loved ones. In order to do so, there are guidelines for your
caregiver.
* All caregivers must be 16 years of age and older, unless approved in advance by
hospital administration.
* All caregivers must enter at the Main Entrance between 7am and 7pm, are screened
upon entry for symptoms and will receive an armband.
* Caregivers must wear armband at all times.
* Anyone exhibiting symptoms of illness will not be allowed in our facility.
* All caregivers must wear a mask or appropriate face covering, must observe social
distancing and must sanitize their hands frequently.

Admitted Overnight Patients (including surgical, pediatric, and OB
patients)
May have one (1) person that must remain in the room at all times unless visiting the cafeteria
for a meal.
 Caregivers with armbands may purchase food in the cafeteria
 You may swap out caregivers one (1) time per day between 7am and 7pm at the main
entrance. Doors will lock at 7pm.

Emergency Department

May have one (1) person that must remain in the room at all
times.

End-of-life care

One to two persons are allowed to support the patient during end-of-life care. If supporting a
COVID-19 patient, thorough education on risk and Personal Protective Equipment is required.

COVID-19 positive or persons under investigation – no visitors allowed

Waiting Rooms

 Waiting rooms are closed during this time.

All of these COVID-19 ‘restrictions’ are getting way out of hand. It’s a social experiment for a future Democratic-run socialistic America.
