James Leonard Cloud, Sr. began Eternal Life peacefully on Saturday, June 27, 2020 in Albertville, AL. He was 83 years old. Survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Greta Burnett Cloud, his sons, James “Len” Cloud (Mimi) and Tony Cloud (Juliana) and stepsons, Jeff Whitehead (Rhonda) and Chris Whitehead (Renee), grandchildren, Chad, Kylie, Eric, Ashley, Tyler, Jake, a brother, Ray Cloud, and a sister, Joyce Grider. Preceded in death by his parents, George “Leonard” and Emma Lou Cloud, a brother, Joe Cloud, stepson, Mitchell Whitehead (Lydia), and grandson Richard.
James was a native of Clouds Cove, Alabama where he spent much of his youth. He also lived in Stevenson, Alabama and has been a resident of Marshall County for the past 50 years. James enjoyed many hobbies including piloting his small plane, boating, and extensive travel in the U.S. and abroad.
He was gratified by a career that spanned more than 40 years as a small business owner in the trucking industry.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, July 1, at 11:00 AM at Carr Funeral Home, 1960 O’Brig Avenue, Guntersville, AL, 35976 a visitation will be prior to service from 10am-11am with burial immediately following at Sweet Home cemetery.
