Gene McKenney, 79, of Huntsville, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020. Mr. McKenney entered the US Army as a PFC and got a direct appointment of Chief Warrant status. He served our country for 23 years with three tours in Korea and one in Germany, retiring at Redstone Arsenal as Chief Warrant Officer 3. Gene was very proud of his family and was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and brother.
Survivors include wife, Lucille McKenney; son, David McKenney (Michele) of Highlandville, MO; daughter, Carol Searles (Gary) of Huntsville; grandsons, Robert McKenney and Tyler Searles; granddaughter, Emily Searles; brother, Keith McKenney (Elena) of Maine; and sisters, Jane Faye Shinn (Nelson) of Ohio and Jennie Raciti of New Jersey. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Dona Lynne McKenney.
Visitation will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 26th, at Laughlin Service Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.
