Mrs. Katie Sue BrownMrs. Katie Sue Brown age 77 of the Joppa Community, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 21, 2020.
Born to the late Junior Cornelius “Neeley” Hornsby and Clara Bell Light Hornsby, Mrs. Brown was born in Arab, Alabama on the date of August 29, 1942. In her earlier years, she worked as a lab technician for Chrysler. Mrs. Brown was a lady who enjoyed the little things about life such as admiring the beauty of her flowers, jewelry, and nature. She was a member of the Lystra Missionary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brown will be forever remembered by her beloved husband, Mitchell Newton “Mickey” Brown; grandson, Justin Brown and brother, James Hornsby (Mellicha) as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and many special friends and love ones including Kaylee & Dravin.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Katie Sue is reunited with her son, Steve Larry Brown; sisters; Irene Hornsby, Della Mae Fletcher, Villa Dean King, Nellie Ruth Walker and Diann Powell; brothers, Noel Hornsby and Wilber Gene Hornsby.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday – June 23, 2020 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel between the hours of 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
Funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday – June 24, 2020 at the Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at the Gilliam Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Bro. John Garrison officiating.
Pallbearers that will escort Mrs. Brown to her final resting place will be: Randy Smith, Mike Brown, Chris Weaver, Adam Weaver, Shane Brown, Tommy Stapler and Eddie Clark.
