Mrs. Patsy Gayle Owens Bruce Hughey Powell of Somerville, Alabama went home to be with the lord on Friday, June 19, 2020 at the age of 80.
Mrs. Powell was born on January 17, 1940 in Marshall County, Alabama. Mrs. Powell worked her earlier years as an assembler for General Electric in Decatur, Alabama and retired her position with the company after many dedicated years of employment. Mrs. Patsy enjoyed life’s little pleasures such as cooking and her flowers, watching the hummingbirds, gardening and lawn care, but most of all, spending as much time with her family and grandchildren as possible.
Mrs. Powell will be forever remembered by her husband of 27 years, Hershal Levon Powell; sons, David Wayne Bruce (Robin), Dennis Wade Hughey and step son Eric Powell; daughters, Darlene Hughey West (Mark), Debbie Hughey Thomas, Diane Hughey; step daughters, Karen Powell and Beth Powell Burks (Ricky); 16 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents; Lester Burt Owens and Dorothy Dimple Flack, Mrs. Powell is reunited with her late spouses, Larry Wayne Bruce and Norman Wade Hughey and brothers; Bobby and Lonnie Owens.
Visitation for Mrs. Patsy will be held at the Brindlee Mountain Chapel on the evening of Monday, June 22, 2020 between the hours of 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Funeral Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2020 at the Brindlee Mountain Chapel in Lacey Springs. Interment will take place at the West Point Cemetery in Somerville, Alabama with Bro. David Mangum and Van Johnson, officiating.
Pallbearers that will escort Mrs. Powell to her final resting place will be; Van Johnson, Brad Lawrence, Donnie Hughey, Mark West, Rickey Womack and Ricky Knighten.
Honorary Pallbearers will include; Mike Womack and Tim Owens
Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel & Brindlee Mountain Chapel, directing.
