James David Mandel

James David Mandel gained his wings on Sunday, June 14, 2020. He was born December 7, 1959 in Pensacola, FL. He was happiest on the water learning to throw a cast net as a young boy from his father and later teaching his own family the joys of fishing. David spent his career working in the concrete industry in North Alabama. He was passionate about his family and spent his free time cooking new recipes with his granddaughter and chasing his young grandson.

He is survived by his wife Joanne, sons, James Brian, Joseph Ryan (Amie), daughter Elizabeth Ann (Ryan) Ash and two grandchildren Katlyn Elizabeth McCain and Elliot Emanuel Ash; his mother Dorothy Mandel and his brothers Steve(Sandy),Eddie (Dawn), Keith, sisters Lisa (Michael) Cousins and Julie (Rick) Hartley; his special extended family Wade and Kay Loggins. He has many nieces, nephews, great nieces/nephews, cousins, Aunts and Uncles.

He was preceded in death by his father Alfred Emanuel Mandel and special extended daughter, Leah Joy Seibert.

Pallbearers will be Ronnie Doyle, Wade Loggins, Mike Gertsman, Jimmy Newby, Pat Tralengo, and Johnny Ozier.

The funeral for James David Mandel will be Thursday June 18, 2020 at 10 A.M. at McConnell Memorial Chapel. The visitation will be on Wednesday June 17, 2020 from 5-8 P.M. at McConnell Funeral Home. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.
