Betty Jane Poindexter Betty Jane Davidson-Poindexter, 73, passed away on June 16, 2020, at her home. She was a native resident of Columbia, TN.

Born in Columbia, TN, she was the daughter of Ted and Mary Davidson. She was the sister of Nancy Carroll Rhodes, Barry Wade Davidson, and Donald Carl Davidson. After graduating Columbia Central High School, she led a devoted life to motherhood and was employed as a receptionist at Dr. Nolan’s Dentistry.

She enjoyed gardening, reading, spending time with family, and dancing. If you did not find her sitting with a Nora Roberts book, she would be found curled up watching a Hallmark Christmas movie in the middle of July. She will be remembered most for her patience, attentiveness, warm heart, and lively spirit. She had a special place in her heart for Christmas, jewelry, flowers, beautiful clothing, butterflies, and family. Betty, known as Granny by family and friends, was a kind and gentle soul who lived wholeheartedly for her children and grandchildren. Her silly and fun personality was characterized by her love for cartoons (Spongebob Squarepants), her contagious laugh, and her bright accessories. Her life was as beautiful as the flowers and animals in which she loved so well, and her mind was as active as the chipmunk who dug up her pink roses.

She is survived by her daughter Tracy Denise Howell and her four grandchildren Jamie Carroll, Cory Howell, Samuel Liggett, and Chesney Bullington. Betty is also survived by two great-grandchildren, Grayson and Remi. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ted and Mary Davidson, her brother and sister, Barry and Nancy, and her son, Jerry Owen Howell Jr. (Dinker).

The celebration of life service will be held on June 22, 2020, at 4pm at Williams Funeral Home. The visitation will be from 2pm to the time of the service.

The family of Betty Poindexter would like to extend our sincere thanks to NHC Columbia and the nurses from Caris Healthcare whom she loved dearly.
