  Audie Ray Gaines, 84, of Iuka, Mississippi, died Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. Mr. Gaines was a founding member of First Freewill Baptist Church in Iuka. He enjoyed fishing and traveling, especially to the Smoky Mountains. He was always laughing and was known for joking and teasing others. He had a special relationship with his “baby dog” Peaches, and also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Ray enjoyed gospel and old country music, and loved to eat sweets, especially chocolate. Being mechanically minded, he could fix anything and enjoyed piddling in his shop. He is survived by his wife of 63 ½ years, Barbara Fay Mitchell Gaines; one daughter, Alison Gaines Parker and husband, Brian Allen Parker; two beloved granddaughters, Ambra Rose Parker and Briann Alisabeth Parker; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy Alfred and Mamie Barnes Gaines; two sisters, Willie Grisham and husband, Gerald, and his twin sister, Aubie Fay Burcham and husband, Alton; and two brothers, James Gaines and wife, Evelyn, and John Gaines and wife, Nell. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka, MS is entrusted with arrangements. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 20, at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka, officiated by Bro. Jack Alan Jones and Bro. Jamie Nanney. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers include Johnny Barnes, Joey Barnes, Doug Burcham, Cleve Burcham, Tim Gaines, and Jimmy Lovelace. John Harrel Gaines will serve as honorary pallbearer. Visitation is scheduled for 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Friday, June 19, at Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka.
