James Paul Corbin James Paul Corbin, born September 26, 1927 to Wilbur Duff and Ester Corbin, passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2020, at his residence.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sylvia A. Cole Corbin of 53 years; son, James Craig Corbin of Cortland, Illinois; daughter, Cynthia Corbin Weilert of Panama City Beach, Florida; granddaughters, Morgan Rae Weilert of Tacoma, Washington and Taylor Mae Weilert of Columbia, Missouri; grandson, James Raymond Corbin (Taressa) of Sycamore, Illinois; great-granddaughter, Ivy Ray Corbin.

Jim lived in Illinois until 1995, then purchased a home on lake property in Killen, Alabama.  He became a Life member, number 13, of the Auburn Cord Duesenberg Club, when he was restoring his first Cord Pheaton, which won best of Cord in 1973.  He became a member of the ACD Board in 1985, served as President in 1984/1985 and Treasurer in 1987.  He also was meet chairman for the ACD Labor Day Reunion in Auburn, Indiana for many years.  During the years of 1987 through 1995 he won the Golden Quill Award for his publication of the CLUB NewsLetter.  He was the NewsLetter editor from April 1986 through 1997, other awards where ACD Club President 1985, Treasures and Secretary 1987, Club Officers and Directors 1983 through 1991, Man of the year Blue Blazer Award 1988, P.N.P. 1987, Best of show judging awards for Cord Pheaton 1973, Watt Adams Cord Driving Award 1985, Duesie of a fellow award-Richmond, Indiana Meet 1987, and 50 year pin in 2016.  He restored his Cord Pheaton in Illinois, won Best mechanical and then won Best of Show in 1973.  He became a Medinah Shriner May 20, 1980 as well as belonging to the Scottish Rite, Valley of Chicago.   He was dedicated to the ACD Club for many years, although he ran his own construction company, Engineered Buildings Corporation for many years in the Chicago area.  This endeavor allowed Jim to retire in Alabama, spend years enjoying life as well as starting a new project.  Jim restored a 21’ Cadillac Powered Chris Craft Cobra, formerly owned by Charles Mapes of Mapes Casino, Reno, Nevada.  He will never put it in the water but a beautiful reminder of him to leave behind.
