Funeral services for Mr. Herbert Carter, age 69, are scheduled for 2 PM, Wednesday, June 10, 2020 in the chapel of Pafford Funeral Home in Scotts Hill. Interment will follow in Sardis Cemetery. Mr. Carter passed away early Monday in Lexington. He was born March 23, 1951 in Sebring, Florida to the late Leroy and Lilybell Albritton Carter. He was a farmer and heavy equipment operator and enjoyed raising cattle, collecting knives, and training horses. He was preceded in death by two daughters, Michelle Lynn Negron and Teresa Grace Gomes. Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Mrs. Grace Carter; his son, Herbert Randy Carter (Tracie); son-in-law, Anthony Gomes, Jr.; brother, Malcolm Eugene Carter; three sisters, Linda Robinson, Tricia Lamb (Chuck), and Debbie Carter; eight grandchildren, Arielle Wagner (John), Kierstin Butler (Logan), Anthony Gomes III (Nicole), Luis Negron III (Anna), Cody Carter (Mallory), Kyle Carter, Alyssa Gomes, and Haylee Carter; and four great grandchildren, Tanner Butler, Xander Wagner, Scarlett Butler, and Piper Butler.
