Shirley Ann Kilgo, 77 of Helicon Community, entered into rest on Monday, June 8, 2020 at Cullman Regional Medical Center.

Shirley was born on April 6, 1943 in Cullman. She attended Jones Chapel School and went on to marry Wilburn Kilgo, to whom she was married for 45 years. She enjoyed traveling, sometimes getting where she was going faster than she should. Shirley loved gardening and working in her flower beds. She also enjoyed blue grass music and could buck dance with the best of them. Spending time with her family is what made her the happiest.  She will be missed by all!

The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 4-5pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where a memorial service will follow at 5pm.

Shirley is survived by her daughter, Legenia (Raymond Easterwood) Kilgo; sons, Dennis Kilgo, and Edward (Susie) Kilgo; 4 granddaughters, Chandra (Keith) Holcomb, Yalonda (Brandon McDonald) McClendon, Tasha (Luke) Alden, and Whitney Kilgo; 5 great grandchildren, Blaitney and Brinlee Holcomb, Owyn and Eastyn McClendon, and Lakyn and Riggs Alden; brother, Tillroe (JoAnn) Smith; sisters, Loretta (Mancel) Garrett and Kathy (Earnest) Williams; and best friends, Carol Key Ergle and Athel Robinson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilburn Kilgo; son, Frankie Edward Kilgo; parents, Herman and Bea Smith; brothers, O.Z., Edsel, Leburn and Denver Smith; and sisters, Dovie Wisener and Shelby Jean Short.
