Frances Wood Neal

Frances Wood Neal, 86 of Foley, formerly of Arley, entered into Jesus’ arms on Thursday, June 4, 2020 at South Baldwin Regional Medical Center.

Frances was born on December 16, 1933 in Crane Hill, Alabama. She was a graduate of Cullman High School Class of 1952. Frances was of the Baptist faith and worked with youth programs in various churches all over the country. She loved adventure and travelled with her husband, Jim, all over the western hemisphere. They celebrated their 68th wedding anniversary together on June 3, 2020. Frances had a warm, loving heart and everything she did was always done with other people’s best interest at heart. Frances loved her children and grandchildren, but most of all, she loved the Lord and was always bold in her testimony of that deep love.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 7, 2020 from 1-2:30pm at Nichols Funeral Home in Addison, where services will be at 2:30pm. Reverend Tim Parrish will officiate. Entombment will be at Winston Memorial Mausoleum in Haleyville.

Frances is survived by her husband, Jim Neal; daughter, Carla Klingler and her husband Kevin; son, Steve Neal and his wife Joanne; 5 grandchildren, Sarah and Carrie Klingler, Jimmy and Wesley Neal, and Lexy Sanford; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Jearl Wood and his wife Joan; sisters, Denise Plaia, and Xan Simmons and her husband Barry; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewel and Arvie Wood; brother-in-law, Sam Plaia; sister-in-law, Lingo Campbell; and nephews, Bill Campbell and Sammy Plaia.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alabama Baptist Children’s Home, Post Office Box 1805, Decatur, Alabama 35602.
