SHEFFIELD-On Tuesday, June Sheffield Police released the name of the victim in the Monday morning shooting. Jonathan Eugene Nipper, age 38, was shot and killed at 304 South Columbia Avenue on Monday morning.
Mario Leshawn Richardson, 39 turned himself into the Colbert County Sheriff’s Department and has since been charged with murder in this case.
Sources at the Sheffield Police Department say this is not the first time there has been issues between the two persons involved in this shooting. Authorities say Nipper was alive when police arrived on scene but he later died after being transported to Helen Keller Hospital.
