SHEFFIELD-On Monday, June 1 a shooting took place in Sheffield on South Columbia Avenue. One person has died and another has been taken into custody.
Neither party to the altercation lived at the address on South Columbia.
According to authorities with the Sheffield Police Department the victim was shot three times in the torso. The body has been sent to Huntsville for autopsy.
The name of the deceased has not been released pending notification of the family.
The suspected shooter is in custody after turning himself in to the Colbert County Sheriff’s office later on Monday morning.
The suspect according to authorities has not been formally charged.
