ATHENS-Athens Fire and Rescue Chief Bryan Thornton said goodbye on Friday, May 29 at a retirement reception in Athens.
Thornton served with Athens Fire for 24 years and also volunteered in the community with the City of Athens Relay for Life Team, Poke Sallet Follies and other organizations.
Mayor Ronnie Marks presented Thornton a key to the city along with a certificate of congratulations.
