Jason Wayne Elam of Selmer, TN Jason Wayne Elam was born February 9, 1965 in Memphis, TN the son of Wayne and the late Patricia Ann Taylor Elam.

Jason was born with exceptional gifts that he shared with everyone he met. With a smile so big, he was a blessing to all. His ability to love unconditionally was inspiring and infectious. He was affectionately known as Jboy. He loved to celebrate his birthday and Christmas and enjoyed singing, dancing and watching wrestling. Jason was a member of the first class in the Developmental Center at MCHS and competed in the Special Olympics; he was a proud of graduate of the Class of 1986.

Jason lived an extraordinary life and lived it to the fullest. He was one of the first residents to live in the McNairy County Group Home, where he enjoyed the weekly outings of attending church, line dancing, and going to the movies. While being a resident there, he obtained a part time job and made many friends that he considered family.

Jason taught us many lessons: always love, be kind, smile and never worry. We are thankful that God chose us as his family to watch him thrive and live 55 years. His joy will always remain with us.

He is survived by his father, Wayne Elam of Ramer, TN; a brother, Tommy Elam and companion Pam of Ramer, TN; a sister, Leigh Ann Michael and husband Randy of Booneville, MS; two nephews, Thomas Elam and wife Audrie of Pflugerville, TX and Bradley Elam of Ramer, TN; four nieces: Ashleigh Flurry and husband Kevin of West Point, MS, Sara Beth Howell and husband Blake of Baldwyn, MS, Mallory Martin and husband Austin of Baldwyn, MS, and Gracie Michael of Booneville, MS; five great-nephews: Elam Flurry, Beckham Howell, Baylor Robbins, Dex Martin, and Emmett Flurry; four great-nieces: Harmon Ann Elam, Mary Michael Flurry, Ann Sutton Howell, and Aurora Elam; a sister of the heart, Teresa Lester; and a host of extended family and friends.
