Madison Man Dead After Single-Vehicle Accident

MADISON-On Wednesday, May 27 the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency reports a single-vehicle accident that hast taken the life of one person and put another person into the hospital with serious injuries:

“A single vehicle crash at 2:10 p.m. Wednesday, May 27, has claimed the life of a Madison man.

Matthew Brian Whitfield, 36, was killed when the 1997 Toyota Tacoma he was driving left the roadway, overturned, and struck a tree. Whitfield, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was pronounced dead at the scene. A female passenger was seriously injured and transported to a local area hospital.

The crash occurred on Wall Triana Highway 1/2 mile north of Madison. Nothing further is available as ALEA Troopers continue to investigate.”
